»Harpe Diem!«

Santnerharps - Franz Santner

I have been fascinated by harps for a very long time.
As a passionate harp player I soon fell in love with Irish folk music
and joined the Irish folk formation »O-CROI« in Austria.

As a trained cabinet maker I've worked with wood for most of my life.
The bridge from being a harp player to making my first own celtic harp was not too far.

Some time after my first tries I met Martin Gust, a renowned harp maker in Germany,
who was happy to share his knowledge abourt harp and instrument building.
Most of my harps are based on his models. Out of this experience I'm now developing my own models in my workshop.
It's a pleasure to create a lovely sounding instrument from the great material that is wood.

My Harps

Santnerharps - meine Harfen

I prefer to use local woods like pear, cherry, ash, maple or walnut.
For the soundboard (membran wood) I'm using spruce or western red cedar.
Depending on the customer's request and availability it is also possible to choose some other kind of wood.
The strings are made from nylon, carbon and copper wired nylon, the sharping levers are made by Carmac.

It is also possible to visit my workshop to see and try the harps.
For booking an appointment, please get in contact by phone or email.

Prices depend on the used woods and the chosen harp model.
